Join the AutoForm Global Webinar: Compensation Strategies to Achieve BiW Assembly Dimensional Accuracy, 28 November

In this webinar, you will gain valuable insights into the following key areas:

  • Key method to identify the most influential parts of an assembly
  • Component compensation approach to solve final assembly tolerance issue
  • Importance of collaboration between stamping and BiW teams during engineering phase
  • How to save Q-loops during tryout and ramp-up phase

Join our upcoming webinar to explore the transformative potential of digital manufacturing in achieving tolerance-compliant assemblies.

As the automotive industry moves towards digital transformation, OEMs and suppliers aim to identify issues as early as possible and address them effectively in the “engineering” phase or even in the “concept” phase. Traditionally, Body-in-White (BiW) assembly feasibility is managed through design rules, tolerance stack-ups, and robotic simulation. However, this overlooks the important factors like the welding sequence (or clamping system or hemming operation) which can impact the final assembly and the tolerance requirements. At the body shop, when an assembly is out-of-tolerance, the standard approach consists in applying shimming of clamps to counterbalance distortion and twisting. Yet, high shimming values may prove unfeasible, requiring alternative solutions.

In a previous webinar, we covered compensation in the context of stamping in the press shop. Now, this session highlights how AutoForm’s solutions enable compensation strategies specifically designed for BiW assemblies. We will introduce the key concepts for achieving tolerance-compliant assemblies by focusing on stamped parts, which greatly influence overall distortion.

Take advantage of “Digital Compensation” in the virtual world, ensuring your assemblies meet specifications at the body shop with minimal quality loops, and significantly accelerate your time to market!

Who should join:

Managers, technical leads and engineers involved in automotive BiW assembly processes. This webinar is strongly recommended for project leads responsible for BiW product development, experts in dimensional engineering, BiW design & manufacturing engineers, feasibility & body process engineers, quality specialists operating at body shop.
