Here’s what a business actually isHow do you think about purpose in the context of what you do? Are the two joined at the hip?Well here’s my hot take. Business is not a purpose.Business is not a vision.Business is not a goal.Business is not an outcome.Business is not your identity.Business is not your worth. Here’s what business is.Business is a vehicle. It’s a vehicle that can take you to the doorsteps of your vision. It’s a vehicle that allows you to live a life of purpose and meaning. It’s a vehicle capable of creating incredible outcomes for you and those you care about. But the journey of entrepreneurship is an incredibly bumpy road.Too many businesses break down along the way. They run out of gas, get stuck in the mud, or enter new terrain their infrastructure can’t handle. But I believe that businesses should live or die on the merits of their ideas, not due to executional shortcomings. My singular purpose and focus is to help entrepreneurs engineer their business infrastructure to survive the journey so that they reach the destination they’re trying to go.So take care of your vehicles, people. Give them some love and invest in them as if your dreams depend on them.Because you can’t get to where you’re trying to go on grit and hard work alone. That’s what I believe. What about you?
